Ministries at Calvary Chapel East Islip
Many people visit churches based upon the types of programs that are offered.
At Calvary Chapel East Islip, we have based each ministry on the following
scripture in Acts 2:42: "And they
continued steadfastly in the Apostle's doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking
of bread and in prayer." We are not about programs, but about remembering Jesus
Christ, discipleship, fellowship, prayer, and the Word of God. If we build our
ministries on these principles, then we will be blessed in them. Remember, the
Church is about Jesus Christ and His People, and not the building or the
program.
Men's Ministry: With this ministry we seek to teach, train and disciple men to be more like Christ, to love their wives, to lead their families, and to serve in the Church. We look to the Word of God and the examples of the Lord and godly men to teach us what a real man is. Join us every 2nd Saturday of the month at 8 AM for our Men's Breakfast, and for other special events and retreats.
Women's Ministry: With this ministry we seek to follow what is written in Titus 2:4-5: "Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God." Join us every 3rd Saturday of the month at 10 AM for our Women's Breakfast, and for other special events and retreats.
Children's Sunday School/Bible Club and Nursery: On Sundays we have both a combined Sunday School, and a Nursery for infants to 4 years old for the children so that we can teach them on their own level, and so they can develop friendships with other children. On Wednesday Night we have a Bible Club where the children can gather in a time of fun worship, simple teaching, prayer and fun activities that reinforce the lesson. We also seek to involve the Children in our church activities and fellowship time because they are dear to our hearts. The Children's Ministry coincides with the Sunday and Adult Services which are at 10 AM on Sundays, and 7 PM on Wednesdays.
Mid High and High School Youth Ministry: Our Youth Group meets every Wednesday Night at 7 PM for a time of worship, prayer, teaching, ministry and fun activities on a level that they can understand and relate to. Throughout the year, we offer special events and outings such as retreats, concerts, beach and park events, swimming and Summer/Winter Camp, where the Youth can grow in fellowship, the Word of God and in their relationship with Christ. Come join us each Wednesday night and bring your parents for the Adult service.
Home Fellowships: With this ministry we seek to disciple God's People in a smaller group setting where we meet in an area home in a casual setting. These fellowships offer people an opportunity to develop friendships, grow in their faith, minister to one another and to ask questions from the study. Join us for a time of intimate worship, bible study, prayer, fellowship and food. Currently we meet each Tuesday night at 7 PM.
